There Is A New Section of Farmington.... (12/8/09)
On Monday, December 7th, members of the FCA Board, along with many interested residents, met with Tom and Joe Stickle to discuss their plans for Wyatt Farms. The developer gave the history of the property and his plans to develop it into a 10-unit subdivision. He also showed samples of custom homes that he had build in the past. These homes were different from Farmington homes in their style but were comparable in overall square footage.
This project is considered to be a "by right" development and is already properly zoned for the developer's plans. However, the developer has expressed a willingness to work with the FCA and its members to create a development that blends with, and even enhances, the current beauty in Farmington. In the next few weeks, the FCA Board will solicit information from members and make a recommendation to the developer.
To date, the site plan has been submitted to the City of Hampton and the Planning Department has issued a staff recommendation . The developer still needs to submit plans for creation and maintenance of a dry retention pond for the development. Construction is estimated in the spring of 2010 where the developer will began advertising lots to build custom homes.
For additional information on the site plan, contact Thomas Jordan of the Hampton Planning Department at 727-6140.

| The Lights are Shining in Farmington Thanks to the 276 paid members in 2009, the FCA was able to coordinate New Lights along the main median on Farmington Blvd. The new lights include uplighting on the neighborhood sign to reduce the glare and overspray that we have had in the past. It also includes uplighting on the 5 Crepe Myrtles along the median. So the next time you drive Farmington Blvd at night, pay special attention to the new lights and say Thank You to the members of the FCA. More to come! |
